Castleford Tigers RLFC are seeking a committed and enthusiastic First Team Assistant Physiotherapist / Sports Therapist / Sports Rehabilitator to join our medical team.

This is a key clinical role working predominantly with the First Team squad, supporting the assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and ongoing management of professional rugby league players. The role will also include responsibility for providing medical and rehabilitation support to the Reserves programme.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Head Physiotherapist, Club Doctor and wider performance team within an established medical and governance structure. This is an excellent opportunity to develop within a professional sporting environment and play an important role in the day-to-day delivery of medical services across the club.
The earliest available start date is 1 November 2026, although we are happy to accommodate notice periods for the right candidate, with a start date of up to 1 January 2027 if required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation for First Team players.
- Support the planning and delivery of rehabilitation programmes, including return-to-training and return-to-play decisions.
- Provide clinical and rehabilitation support to the Reserves programme.
- Deliver pitch-side trauma and match-day medical cover for First Team and Reserves fixtures as required.
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous medical records and contribute to injury surveillance and medical governance.
- Communicate effectively with players, coaches, medical and performance staff.
- Work collaboratively with the Head Physiotherapist, Club Doctor and wider multidisciplinary team.
- Contribute to screening, injury prevention and player availability initiatives across the club.
- Working hours will predominantly be during the daytime and will follow the First Team training programme. Evening, weekend and match-day work will be required in line with the club's fixture schedule.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Relevant professional qualification and registration:
- Physiotherapist: HCPC and CSP registered.
- Sports Therapist: Society of Sports Therapists registered.
- Sports Rehabilitator: BASRaT registered.
- Minimum 1 year post-graduate experience.
- Previous experience working within professional or elite sport.
- Level 3 pitch-side trauma qualification (IMMOFP, PHICIS Level 3 or equivalent), or a Level 2 qualification with a willingness to complete Level 3 as soon as possible.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required for training and fixtures.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
- Previous experience within rugby league or rugby union.
