British Orienteering, the national governing body for orienteering in the UK, is looking for an Independent Non-Executive Director to join its Board.
The Role
Working alongside the Chair, Elected Non-Executive Directors and Chief Executive, you will help provide strategic direction, support effective decision-making and make sure British Orienteering continues to develop as an inclusive, safe and forward-thinking organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the leadership and governance of the sport
- Help set strategic direction and support effective Board decision-making
- Bring independent judgement and constructive challenge to Board discussions
About You
- Able to think strategically and contribute to collective decision-making
- A collaborative approach with independent judgement
- The Board would particularly welcome knowledge and experience in welfare and safeguarding, safety and risk management, or diversity, equality and inclusion (not essential)

- Location: Online, with meetings in Birmingham and London
- Role: Voluntary, with reasonable expenses paid
