As GB Climbing works towards LA28 and Brisbane 2032, the British Mountaineering Council is looking to strengthen its Performance Advisory Group (PAG) with additional specialist expertise.
The Role
Chaired by Hanne Doherty, Board Director with responsibility for Performance, the PAG supports and advises the Performance Department on the strategic development of the Olympic, Paralympic and talent programmes.
The group provides expert challenge, guidance and oversight across athlete development, performance planning, programme strategy and governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert challenge and guidance to the Performance Department
- Advise on athlete development, performance planning and programme strategy
- Support oversight and governance of the Olympic, Paralympic and talent programmes
About You
- Expertise in one or more of: elite climbing performance (competing, coaching or operating in elite climbing, ideally without current conflicts of interest)
- Paralympic athlete experience (climbing experience not essential)
- Developing, implementing or reviewing selection policies and appeals in high-performance sport
- Developing Paralympic pathways, programmes or performance systems, including classification
- Leading or shaping high-performance sport strategy
