Great Britain Cycling Team


The Great Britain Cycling Team (GBCT) is the country’s most successful Olympic and Paralympic team in history, with high ambitions to continue this legacy at LA 2028 and beyond.

We are a highly driven and motivated team of skilled and passionate individuals working together to support athletes across seven cycling disciplines, to achieve their full potential and deliver world-beating performances on the biggest stages.

We work hard to support delivery of British Cycling’s vision which includes striving to inspire Britain to be a great cycling nation and sharing the joy of cycling with everyone.

Now is an incredibly exciting year to join the Great Britain Cycling Team, fresh off the back of winning 11 Olympic and 22 Paralympic medals at the most recent Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris, as well as having recently celebrated 20 years of the GBCT pathway.

What will you be doing?


GBCT is seeking an exceptional individual who can lead and coach in the Paralympic World Class Programme (WCP) as Lead Paralympic World Class Performance Coach. This pivotal role will oversee the endurance specific philosophy and strategy in the Paralympic WCP strengthening the performance leadership that provides focused technical expertise, event-specific planning and enhanced athlete management aligned to the distinct demands of the endurance and sprint discipline areas that capture the spread of riders across the programme.

The ability to target performance interventions and improved integration with multidisciplinary support teams, will enable the WCP to create higher-quality daily training environments for athletes in the pursuit of medal success at the World Championships and Paralympic Games. In addition, you will provide support and guidance to the Paralympic coaching of Podium and Podium Potential riders towards medal success at the Paralympic Games (current and future games cycles) that are under pinned by world class behaviours and attitudes.

Curious – You have a constant curiosity about how to enhance the strategic planning for classification-specific performance needs that keeps the team competitive and winning at the very top of the sport. You have a desire to invite fresh eyes and new perspectives and welcome challenge and debate.
Conscientious - You possess a high attention to detail and have a desire to ensure to ensure the standards of delivery and the environment you operate in are world class. Recommending areas for development that continues to push the programme in its pursuit of excellence with a performance focussed, games first approach.
Rapport builder – You build and maintain positive relationships with a range of key stakeholders, external partners and riders, ensuring services are delivered on time, to the standards required. Having positive influence on both performance and development to ensure there is continued progression both in riders and the WCP.
Reliable – You can be consistently depended upon. When you say it will get done, it gets done. You effectively manage expectations and are sure not to over promise and under deliver. What you do is always done to the best of your ability alongside sound decision-making.
Team player – You will naturally want to stand shoulder to shoulder with your colleagues and utilise the power of collaboration to support success.
