Do you want to grow the game of rugby and make a real difference in your community?

Bristol Bears Foundation is the official charity of Bristol Bears. We believe rugby is more than just a game. It’s our way for lasting change. We use rugby as tool to help tackle the impacts of inequality by inspiring healthier, stronger, and more connected communities across Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Community Rugby Development Coordinator to lead the delivery of Project Rugby, a PREM Rugby–funded programme designed to increase participation in Rugby Union among young people from underrepresented groups across Bristol.

This is a fantastic role for someone passionate about inclusive sport, community outreach, and using rugby to create positive social impact.

Your Role

As the Community Rugby Development Coordinator, you will play a central role in the coordination and delivery of Project Rugby across Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire. Working closely with partner schools and local grassroots clubs, you will deliver high quality rugby sessions that engage, inspire, and support young people who may not otherwise have access to the game.

You will:

• Coordinate and deliver Project Rugby in line with PREM Rugby requirements, including Touchline Academy.

• Deliver high quality rugby and physical activity sessions targeting LSEG and SEND groups in school and community settings.

• Build strong partnerships with schools, clubs, and community organisations to support long term participation pathways.

• Support the delivery of wider Community Rugby programmes such as Player Development Camps and Matchday activations.

This role blends delivery, planning, and relationship building - perfect for someone who loves coaching but also enjoys community impact work and programme development.

What You’ll Bring

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. If you’re excited about the role and meet most of the criteria, we’d love to hear from you.

Essential:

• England Rugby Coaching Award (ERCA) or RFU Level 2 Coaching Award (or equivalent).
• Experience delivering sports coaching sessions in community and/or school environments.
• Experience managing projects and achieving targets, KPIs, or measurable outcomes.
• Experience building and maintaining partnerships with schools, clubs, or community groups.
• Strong communication, organisational, and relationship building skills.
• Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends when required.
• Full, valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Enhanced DBS check and two relevant references.
• Ability to recognise and uphold best practice in safeguarding, risk management, equality and diversity.

The closing date for applications is Sunday 29th March 2026.

*We reserve the right to close this vacancy early, if a high volume of applicants are received and previous applicants need not apply*
