Your next role
As our Post 16 Careers Officer, you’ll play a key role in delivering impactful employability programmes for young people aged 16 - 21 who are not in education, employment or training (NEET).
You’ll lead delivery of our ‘Boost Your Future’ programme and support the delivery of our ‘United Bristol’ work, helping young people develop the confidence, skills, and qualifications they need to take their next steps into employment, education, or training.
This is a hands-on, rewarding role where you’ll build meaningful relationships, create opportunities, and see first-hand the difference you make.
What you’ll be doing
Working closely with the Employability & Skills Projects Manager, you will:
- Deliver engaging 1:1 sessions, group workshops, and employability programmes in community settings
- Plan and deliver high-quality Maths and English Functional Skills sessions
- Design and adapt schemes of work to meet the needs of young people
- Build strong, trusting relationships to support progression into positive outcomes
- Work alongside local employers to create workshops, guest sessions, and work experience opportunities
- Collaborate with partners, including the council and community organisations
- Track progress, maintain accurate records, and report on programme impact
- Ensure safeguarding, health & safety, and risk management standards are upheld at all times
What you’ll bring

Essential:
- Experience working with young people or targeted groups in areas of deprivation
- Ability to deliver Maths and English functional skills
- Understanding of barriers facing young people (e.g. SEND, SEMH, disadvantage)
- Knowledge of education, employment and training pathways in Bristol
- Experience planning or delivering structured sessions or programmes
- A youth work qualification (or willingness to work towards)
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate and engage young people
- Flexibility to work evenings/weekends where required
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Desirable:
- England Rugby Coaching Award (or willingness to work towards)
