The Role of the Women’s GK Lead
Brentford FC has an exciting opportunity for an innovative and progressive goalkeeping (GK) coach to join our expanding women’s football department in a part-time role (approx. 12 hours per week). They will lead on all areas relating to the training and preparation of our First Team and B Team goalkeepers. In collaboration with head coaches and our recruitment lead, they will also provide a support role in the talent identification, tracking and recruitment of GK’s for our women’s teams. Supporting us to build a strategy to deliver our longer-term ambitions to progress up the women’s football pyramid.
The women’s first team gained promotion from Tier 6 and will step up to compete in Tier 5 for the 2025/26 season, with matches mainly on Sunday afternoons. This is a great opportunity for someone with high standards and a passion for player development. On the pitch, we are looking for an individual who excels at session design and can collaborate with the head coach to plan and deliver practices that maximise both the technical and tactical preparation of GKs, fosters problem solving and decision making and where appropriate, driving intensity that meets or exceeds the demands of the game. Off the pitch, we are looking for someone who is proactive, can lead others and sets high standards around planning and delivery.
Being progressive, humble and respectful is important. We are looking for an individual that can come on a journey with us. We have plans to grow and evolve our women’s programme, and a thriving player pathway will be an important part of our longer-term strategy.
