Department: Senior Catering
Based at: Blackburn Rovers Academy, Brockhall Village, Old Langho, Blackburn, BB6 8BA. Flexibility regarding location is required.
Reports to: Head Chef
Responsible for: N/A
Hours of work: 40 hours per week plus any additional hours necessary for the performance of duties.
Contractual Status: Permanent
Job purpose: To manage the day-to-day food preparation and duties assigned by the Lead or Head Chef, meeting the Club’s standards and quality.
Duties and responsibilities:
• To be committed to ensuring the safeguarding and welfare of all staff and elite players, promoting their well-being whilst maintaining professional boundaries;
• Preparing, cooking and presenting food to a consistently high standard;
• Supporting the senior chefs with the smooth running of the kitchen;
• Maintaining excellent food hygiene and health and safety standards;
• Ensuring food preparation areas are clean, organised and well maintained;
• Managing your section effectively during busy service periods;
• Following recipes, specifications and portion controls;
• Helping to maintain high standards across all areas of the kitchen;
• Working as part of a professional kitchen team; and
• Any other duties as reasonably assigned by the Lead or Head Chef when required.

• Holds a good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety
Knowledge / Experience required:
• Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or equivalent;
• Previous experience within an elite sporting environment (desirable);
• Knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety standards;
Qualifications required:
• Health and Safety Level 2 or above
• Food hygiene Level 2 or above
DBS check required: Yes (enhanced)
