We are looking for an Academy Nutritionist to support our Academy Performance team on a part-time consulting basis and enhance and deliver a high-quality, age-appropriate nutrition service for U9-U14 Academy players based at Hale End.
You will play a key role in strengthening the existing nutrition framework to continue to support the health, development, and performance of our young players. This consultant role will contribute directly to our Academy’s overarching mission of creating the most challenging and caring football academy in the world.
Please note: this position is a consultant role on a part-time basis and is likely to be 2 days per week
Your day-to-day
- Deliver nutrition education sessions - you'll deliver theoretical and practical nutrition education sessions in line with the existing curriculum, enhancing nutrition education for players, parents & guardians, coaches and key stakeholders
- Champion nutritional excellence - you will lead nutrition monitoring including food diary analysis and feedback, and you'll influence nutrition behaviours by being present at key meal and snack times
- Lead nutrition clinics - you'll manage player and parent/guardian nutrition clinics for both injured and fit players
- Oversee the Academy's food provision - you will contribute to menu planning and the improvement of food provision at Hale End
- Collaborate with our restaurant staff - you'll liaise with Chefs and our Kitchen team to ensure appropriate nutrition timing and quality, and you will seek to contribute to the improvement of the Hale End restaurant environment
- Liaise with external stakeholders - you will regularly communicate with schools to educate and improve nutrition provision
- Provide support across matchdays - you'll assist in organising and arranging food provision for matchdays, tours and tournaments
- Offer support across the wider department - you will attend and contribute to departmental meetings and will undertake any other activities as required by the Lead Academy Nutritionist and Head of Academy Performance
What we are looking for
- Background in elite sport - you've previously applied your nutritional expertise within a professional sport setting
- Credible expertise - you hold a MSc degree in Sport Nutrition and you're registered with The Sport and Exercise Nutrition Register (SENr) to a minimum of graduate level
- Excellent communication skills - you're able to build impactful relationships and communicate your ideas clearly with both internal colleagues and external stakeholders
- Organised and adaptable approach - you thrive when you're balancing competing priorities and are able to manage and organise your workload with ease
- Professional mindset - you can act as an ambassador for our club and role model the Academy's values as well as the wider club values, and you're able to operate with discretion and confidentiality within your role
Position of Trust - As someone in a position of trust role involving regular, direct contact with children or vulnerable adults you will be expected to uphold high standards of conduct to prevent abuse, including sexual, physical, or emotional harm. This role requires you to keep updated with both Club and FA Safeguarding training and education
