The position:

We are looking to recruit a Machinist to join our Prototype Machine Shop here at Williams.

The role:

The role involves the manufacture of high specification components primarily using 3 and 5 axis-based machines. This is a varied role in an exciting environment and to succeed you will need to be adaptable, demonstrate initiative along with the ability to work collaboratively to meet tight deadlines.

Skills you'll use every day:

The successful candidate will have a good level of knowledge around manufacturing technology relating to composite components. Operationally you will ideally have experience with 3 and 5 axis-based machine tools and be able to operate the machines to a high level of accuracy whilst working to tight deadlines, also have good offline programming skills to use on our Siemens NX CAM package.

Core Skills:

  • Candidates will possess a recognised apprenticeship or relevant experience in a similar environment.
  • Take pride in their work and be capable of working with minimum supervision.
  • Problem-solving, along with attention to detail and a can-do attitude
  • Effective organisation and communication skills are a necessity along with a proactive approach to using procedures that encourage continuous improvement.
  • A good understanding of manufacturing small quantity complex components will be required.
  • A high degree of flexibility, motivation, team ethic and initiative are essential for success in this role.
  • An understanding of CAD/CAM would be advantageous in Siemens NX.

Please note this role is 4 on 4 off shift pattern.
