About the role
The Head Coach - Sailing will lead the WAIS Sailing program in supporting talented sailors to develop the attributes required to becomes successful world-class sailing athletes in targeted classes, aligned to Australian Sailing’s national strategy.
The Head Coach will be accountable for the progression of WAIS Sailors towards Australian Sailing Team selection, with a focus on 470, ICLA 6, ICLA 7, IQ Foil, and Kite Foil. In doing so, they will lead the interdisciplinary collaboration of the WAIS Sailing Program performance enhancement team.
The Head Coach Sailing will support WA pathway initiatives including coach mentoring and engagement, and talent identification.

The role is based out of the WAIS High Performance Service Centre in the Mt Claremont Sporting Precinct and Fremantle Sailing Club. Some domestic travel will be required.
We are looking for an enthusiastic coach with the proven ability to develop sailors to a senior international level. You will have sound knowledge of contemporary issues associated with high-performance sport and the development of elite athletes for success in the national and international arena.
Experience and qualification requirements:
This is a fixed term contract through to the 2024 Olympic Games, with the potential to extend to the 2028 Olympic cycle. Anticipated salary is from $90,524 - $107,942 + Superannuation and will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
