Role Summary

To assist the Lead Regional Strength & Conditioning Coach by managing and delivering all physical performance aspects of the RGC Pathway Curriculum to players within the RGC Pathway Under 18 programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the RGC Pathway Head Coach (Under 18) and Coleg Llandrillo Rugby Academy Coordinator in planning and delivering their respective programmes
  • Demonstrate a methodical and systematic ability to plan and coach physical development (athletic, functional, and technical) to players within the RGC Pathway Under 18 programme
  • Attend RGC Pathway Under 18 and Coleg Llandrillo matches and training, delivering strength and conditioning interventions to prepare players for performance
  • Perform regular physical performance testing of athletes within RGC Pathway in line with National protocols for the purposes of monitoring and reporting on player development
  • Work in collaboration with RGC Performance staff to establish long term Individual Development Plans for Under 18 Pathway players, with regular and timely review periods
  • Deliver regular feedback and reviews of training, physical testing, and competition that relate to IDP’s and ongoing learning
  • Assist in the coaching of RGC Premiership & Senior Academy players as and when required
  • Assist in developing a positive culture within RGC Performance Pathway squads in adherence with WRU and RGC standards and values
  • Protection of all private athlete information, and adherence to data protection and research guidelines as outlined by WRU HR Department
  • Deliver Performance Pathway Coach Education tasks as required
