Job Purpose:


The Community Programmes Manager plays a pivotal role in the Warwickshire Cricket Foundation (WCF), overseeing the strategic development and implementation of community engagement initiatives across Warwickshire. This position is instrumental in fostering inclusivity within cricket, managing key outreach projects, and coordinating a team of community sessional coaches to achieve collective growth objectives. Working closely with all team managers, you'll drive comprehensive growth across all our activities.

Role Profile and Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee WCF community strategy and develop community participation, particularly in areas of diverse demographics and socio-economic deprivation.
  • Manage various community engagement programmes such as Chance To Shine Street, ECBs Diverse Communities Fund, Wicketz, ACE and Dynamos Intros, with a continuous emphasis on expansion and improvement.
  • Oversee the operational budget for all community programmes, ensuring financial targets are met and providing necessary support and resources for staff, including both permanent and sessional employees.
  • Promote WCF and manage relationships with key stakeholders at national and local levels, including ECB, Chance To Shine ACE, Leisure Trusts, Active Sports Partnerships and local charities, to ensure successful project delivery and establish WCF as a prominent community sports delivery partner in the county.
  • Collaborate with other WCF teams to identify additional opportunities and maximise outreach.
  • Research and explore new markets and potential partners to expand participation in diverse audiences and demographics.
  • Develop innovative strategies and initiatives to drive community engagement and increase outreach to new audiences.

The Community Programmes Manager will sit on WCF’s Operational Management Group and act as a deputy for the Head of Recreational Cricket and Operations, and the Community Director when necessary.

Person Specification:


You will be an enthusiastic, innovative and driven individual, passionate about developing community sports development, particularly within cricket, with an understanding of the sport's importance among diverse communities. You will be a team player with exceptional organisational and communication skills, possessing both attention to detail and strategic vision crucial for effective programme management. Leadership qualities are essential, along with the ability to champion and motivate a diverse team of coaches, volunteers, officers, and partners.

Experience

Essential:

  • Experience in equity, diversity and inclusion policies and projects
  • Experience of developing community sport and physical exercise programmes
  • Experience of data management and input, supported by excellent programme management skills
  • Budget management experience
  • Strong leadership experience and qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire others, including experience in people management
  • Impact measurement and reporting experience
  • Ability to build and maintain partnerships with stakeholders at local and national levels

Desirable:

  • Experience of event management
  • Experience of leading and motivating a freelance coaching workforce
  • Experience of volunteering in grass roots sport

Skills & Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Excellent planning, communication and organisational skills to effectively manage and deliver a diverse workload
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong IT and Social Media skills and knowledge
  • Understanding of relevant community programmes and initiatives

Desirable:

  • ECB Qualified Cricket Coach
  • ECB DBS clearance
  • Up to date ECB safeguarding course certificate
