Wales Women’s Lacrosse programme is inviting applications for the Head Coach of the Senior Women’s Programme to building towards European Championships in 2024 and World Championships in 2026

Head of Women’s Performance

Responsibilities

  • Establish the tactical and technical direction of the top level of our programme, working closely with positional coaches to deliver the necessary sessions to achieve your vision.
  • Plan and deliver these technical and tactical elements of lacrosse within the Wales Lacrosse principles of a needs led, behaviours driven programme.
  • Extend the existing expectations document to include these elements in the build up to European Championships in 2024 and World Championships in 2026.
  • Lead the senior women’s coaching team, providing guidance and support where appropriate.
  • Monitor player progress against specific criteria.
  • Establish regular player reviews using available software programmes.
  • Maintain regular communication and collaboration with all coaches in the Wales Pathway to ensure continuity of delivery throughout the programme.
  • Work with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to ensure high standards of player welfare are maintained.
  • Nurture an environment where coaches and players can take risks and develop their individual skills and personality.

Essential Skills/Understanding

  • Excellent, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional planning and monitoring skills.
  • Previous experience in leading a team of coaches and support staff
  • Commitment to further learning and integration with Wales Lacrosse coaching vision
  • Good understanding of Safeguarding procedures
  • Wales Lacrosse DBS Check (provided on appointment)
  • First Aid for Sport
  • Proficient in google suite
  • PDS Master class - support will be provided to attain this qualification
  • Understanding of UKAD rules and regulations

Desirable qualifications

Recognised Elite level Lacrosse Coaching

Must be eligible to work in the UK

Pay/Remuneration

Pay is calculated on an ad hoc day rate, according to attendance at training weekends, out of pocket expenses are reimbursed.
