This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to lead the 2032 Coaching strategy for the UK High Performance System, ensuring that high performance coaches in the UK are effectively supported and developed for the next 8 years and beyond.
The successful candidate will be required to work effectively with key partners to develop and deliver UKS strategic plan, including future-thinking and activity related to the coaching workforce, world leading coach development, and the processes and structures required to effectively support high performance coaching in the UK.
Excellent leadership and strategic thinking will be critical in connecting an ambitious strategy to both UKS and key partners activity. The role will strategically lead and manage the delivery of the central coaching support offer from UK Sport through effective leadership of the UKS coaching team and proactive collaboration with UKS performance delivery teams to ensure UKS approach and delivery are effective and relevant to funded coaches and sports.

UK Sport
• Strategic leadership of 2032 Coaching strategy for the UK High Performance system through effective collaboration and partnership working Coaches, Sports, coach developers, Home Nations Sports Councils, UKSI, and UK Coaching.
• Steer thought leadership for the UK HPS, including futurology for coaching and athlete development
• Develop and deliver the coaching strategy for HPS ensuring that strong, ethical coaching practice
• Leadership and management of UKS coaching team.
• Oversee the central coaching support offer from within UKS, including the effective design and delivery of learning offers to high performance coaches, the management and deployment of associate coach developers and in situ coaching support.
• Ensure UKS coaching activity is aligned to the performance delivery teams and the needs of funded sports and coaches.
• Positively contribute as a leader of a cross UKS 'Learning faculty'
• Oversee the critical workstreams relating to coaching standards and professionalisation
• Develop external partnerships in the UK and internationally to ensure Coaching activities deliver effective, innovative, and holistic learning.
• Drive the strategic oversight of developing a more diverse coaching workforce which better reflects society, ensuring that delivery arises in time with critical milestones
The Coaching Lead and Learning and Development Manager are two critical appointments for UK Sport. The two roles will be integral in supporting the sporting workforce and building on the brilliant foundations that have been formed in recent cycles.
The Coaching Lead will be responsible for the Coaching Strategy 2032for the UK High Performance System. Working with sports and key partners to develop and deliver UKS strategic plan, including future-thinking and activity focused on the coaching workforce, world leading coach development, and the processes and structures required to effectively support high performance coaching in the UK.
