UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) is on a mission to protect clean sport and currently has an exciting opportunity available for you to join us.

We’re looking to recruit a Governance Officer, joining the Business Services directorate to play an active role in assisting and supporting the Director of Finance and Business Services with all governance matters.

Job purpose

You will support and assist with all governance matters, ensuring UKAD follows best practice and that all matters are handled efficiently and effectively.

You will support meetings, support compliance with government requirements, coordinate Health and Safety matters and have the opportunity to enhance and evolve the governance framework.

Key result areas include

  • Provides meeting support including, preparing the annual schedule of UKAD Board and other governance meetings; agenda preparation; proof reading draft papers; uploading papers; meeting booking and set-up; attendance to minute Board other governance meetings; circulating minutes and following up actions
  • Evolve and enhance the governance framework, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable codes, in addition to legal and statutory requirements
  • Assists the Director of Finance and Business Services with the management of the insurance policies and claims, the timely and accurate preparation of the relevant information within UKAD’s Annual Report and Accounts and performance and activity reports to the Board
  • Manages the conflict of interest recording and reporting in accordance with the Code and governance requirements including oversight and development of the software application
  • Compiles Quarterly Business review using submissions from across the business
  • Coordinating compliance for Health & Safety related matters and staff inductions
  • Liaison with high level external personnel from stakeholders

Person specification

Qualifications/experience/knowledge

  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • Experience of extensive minute taking at Board level
  • Experience of managing and working to administrative processes and procedures in a fast paced, high profile environment
  • Experience of handling confidential and sensitive information
  • Experience of preparing documentation and coordinating the appropriate administration attached to meetings

Skills

  • Highly IT literate including Microsoft Office 365
  • Highly organised with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience in managing multiple priorities
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels
  • Having a flexible and adaptable approach to maintain high standards of performance
