An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Equipment Standards team as Research Engineer. The successful candidate will using their own expertise to work on research projects as directed by senior staff and on an independent basis, providing research support to the Equipment Standards department. This will include the collection, analysis, and communication of relevant data, and escalating complex issues to the Research & Testing Manager, when appropriate, in order to support departmental objectives.
This is a full time, permanent position working 35 hours per week.
This is a full-time role, working predominantly Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm within our Testing Facility in Kingsbarns.

Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have the following experience and attributes:
- Degree in Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Experience of conducting scientific research.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel) and MATLAB.
- Experience of statistical analysis and application of relevant software (e.g., Minitab, R).
- Experience of working in a technical, research or engineering environment.
- Ability to work within a structured framework such as the ISO 9001 quality management system.
