An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Equipment Standards department as a Technician. The successful candidate will test and evaluate golf equipment for conformance to the Equipment Rules, following documented test methods to ensure tests are carried out in a thorough and accurate way using machinery and methods which are in calibration, and reporting on conformance outcomes, as well as conducting testing for research purposes.

This is a full-time, permanent position working 35 hours per week.

This is a full-time role, working predominantly Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm within our Testing Facility in Kingsbarns. We operate flexi-time within the hours of 7am – 7pm.

Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have the following experience and attributes:

  • Experience working in a similar or related role.
  • Ability to transcribe/record results accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to work within a structured framework such as the ISO 9001 quality management system.
  • Ability to follow multi-step written instructions using laboratory equipment.
  • Ability to respect and maintain high levels of confidentiality.
  • Ability to conduct manual testing and verification.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Scottish National 5 qualifications, or equivalent, in English and Maths.

The R&A group of companies was formed in 2004 to take on The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews’ responsibilities for governing the Rules of Golf, staging The Open, golf’s original championship, and developing the sport. The World Golf Museum in St Andrews is part of The R&A group.
