Join Our Team as Lead Physiotherapist at The Carter & George Practice (Hertford, Herts)

We are looking for an accomplished Senior Physiotherapist to lead our flagship clinic.

The Carter & George Practice is one of the fastest growing private Physiotherapy clinics in the UK. Our mission is to deliver the same level of care experienced by elite athletes – to the general public.

Opened in 2018 by Co-Founders Rhys Carter (Physiotherapist) and Jamie George (Saracens, England and British Lions), we have experienced steep growth and now have three busy high street practices, serving more than 20,000 appointments per year; with the Hertford clinic being our biggest, busiest and most multi-disciplinary – including a large team comprised of Physiotherapists, Sports Medicine Consultants, Sports Therapists, Strength & Conditioning coaches and a fully staffed support team.

We have been building towards a fast and exciting growth phase, with an additional three new clinics on the horizon within the next 6 months, therefore genuine progression opportunities are available.

The Role:


The successful applicant will inherit a diverse role, comprising of clinical, managerial and mentorship time. The Hertford team are ambitious and committed to providing a superior experience of healthcare – part of the role is to inspire their progression and develop the team into future leaders.

Reporting directly to the Clinical Director, you will be responsible for delivering outstanding care to our patients, who are generally active, athletic people looking to both recover and prevent injury occurrence; as well as improve their athletic performance. You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to design and implement services that put us at the forefront of the profession.

You will be expected to liaise with sports teams, coaches and medical staff; as well as orthopaedic consultants and sports doctors to deliver excellent care pathways.

The Lead Physiotherapist will display a commercial awareness and understand that the clinic success and patient success both need to occur for a sustainable business.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 Years Musculoskeletal Experience
    Bring your wealth of experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy to enhance our clinic's patient care.
  • Professional Sports Setting Experience
    A background working in a Senior or Head position within professional sport that will help drive clinical excellence and work ethic.
  • Private Practice Background
    An understanding of how the private healthcare market operates within the UK.
  • Team Leadership Experience
    Showcase your leadership skills by managing and guiding our multi-disciplinary team.
  • Mentoring and Education
    Express your interest in mentoring and educating your team to foster professional growth within the clinic.
  • Innovation and Service Launch
    Demonstrate your experience of service innovation by sharing instances where you've successfully launched new services or implemented ground-breaking ideas to both improve patient experience/outcome and improve commercial success of the clinic/department.
  • Clinical Skills
    While not mandatory, experience with acupuncture/dry needling, shockwave therapy, sonography, objective testing (HHD etc) and gait analysis/orthotic prescription is desirable.
