We are seeking a Coach Education Officer to join our team on a permanent basis (35 hours per week) to lead the development, review and quality assurance of our coach education certificate programmes.

This is an exciting opportunity working within Swim England in the Educator Training team. The role will be home based but the successful candidate will have the ability to travel to our SportPark office based at Loughborough (roughly twice a month) and nationally when required. Where possible flexible working will be considered.

Reporting to the Senior Educator Training Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the specification and assessment development process across all coaching certificate programmes, ensuring the needs of the aquatic sports are maintained. Working with the Educator Training Co-coordinator, the successful candidate will lead the implementation of the external quality assurance processes and procedures.

In addition they will also work with the team to plan and deliver training to new and existing coach educators as well as supporting other Swim England and Institute of Swimming departments with the development of coach education products. Interviews to be held week commencing 9th October.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Experience delivering teaching, learning and assessment programmes within the sports an leisure sector.
  • Experience developing coach education programmes and assessment strategies including technical content from subject matter experts to develop and deliver training interventions.
  • Knowledge of the sport of swimming and the aquatic disciplines.
  • Proven ability to form and maintain effective relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel nationally to visit educators and delivery centres.
  • Experience developing qualifications or CPDs would be advantageous, along with an understanding of quality assurance processes and procedures.
  • The role requires candidates to undertake an enhancd DBS check and complete relevant safeguarding training. Please be aware that we will be following a safer recruitment process with regards to recruitment for this position.
