Surrey County Cricket Club (Surrey CCC) is a first-class club in county cricket, one of eighteen in the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales.
The Position
The Surrey Cricket Foundation is seeking a Primary Schools Officer to grow and improve the schools offer within school environment.
The Officer will be responsible for effective delivery of the Chance to Shine schools’ programme. To play a key role in the strategic development of the primary schools’ programme. To work closely with the Schools Coordinator the Secondary School Officer and the Head of Schools and Young People to ensure all delivery is consistent and forms part of the strategic plan.
The Officer will need to ensure the social media profile of the schools’ activity is improved to celebrate our impact of young people’s lives. In addition to this the officer will be responsible for all impact and evaluation requirements linked to the Chance to Shine programme.

What you’ll do
•Lead on the design and implementation of the primary schools’ cricket offer.
•Work closely with the Surrey Schools Cricket Association (SSCA) Active Surrey and the London department to create and enhance opportunities maintaining a consistent and co-ordinated offer.
•Promote where possible any paid offer opportunities namely Pride of Lions.
•Lead, administer and run all girls only related activity within the primary school environment.
•Support the transition of participants from school playgrounds into the wider extra-curricular sessions such as Chance to Shine Street, MCC Foundation Hubs, local cricket clubs, ACE Academy, Lord Taverners Super 1s
•Support and lead where required, all primary school activities, local, county and regional competitions/events.
•Support with the planning and successful delivery of Schools Day and any further events as requested by the senior manager of schools and young people
•Promote our inclusion offer at every opportunity.
•Work closely with the Secondary Schools officer and Programme and Business Manager to relaunch the schools paid offer to create an agreed income. Oversee and deliver the Leo Trust agreement.
•Effective monthly reporting as required.
•Work closely with our Marketing & Communications Officer to ensure the schools achievements are celebrated at every opportunity.
•Work closely with the Head of Schools and Young People to ensure all allocated budgets are managed and recorded to the highest standard.
•Be fully responsible for any primary school programmes linked to Chance to Shine.
•To work closely with the School Coordinators to enhance indoor cricket opportunity.
The Person
The successful candidate will have the following experience / skills / qualities:
Essential:
•Experience in a similar role, paid or voluntary
•A detailed understanding of developing sport, especially cricket, in a primary school environment
•Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
•Ability to learn quickly and a ‘can do attitude’
•Good planning and organisational skills
•Good communication and interpersonal skills
•Good computer literacy, including MS Office
•Good attention to detail
•Willingness to work unsociable hours as necessary
•Good time management skills
•Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
Desirable:
•A keen interest and understanding of cricket
•A full driving licence with access to own transport
•Cricket coaching qualification
•Experience in communicating with primary schools
Flexibility around working hours and locations within Surrey are vital to the success of this role
Satisfactory ECB DBS Check, First Aid, Safeguarding and the right to work in the UK
This role can be based at Kia Oval (London) or at George Abbot School (Guildford).
