What will you be doing?

This role is responsible for the coaching our Southampton Academy curriculum within our Regional Centre based in Berkshire. The successful candidate will coach and develop young players aged 9-14 preparing them for elite academy level football in the youth development phase including maximising the opportunities of young players to reach their full potential.

Experience and passion for coaching youth players is essential. You will be coaching players two nights per week with a games programme alongside the core coaching hours.

You will be part of a group of staff who are passionate and enthused to deliver a fantastic experience to all players maximising their time with our centre.

A skilled, qualified, energetic football coach with a passion for inspiring youth players to develop as a person and their football talent. A highly organised and strong communicator with experience of leading a squad of players, parents and working with staff. An individual who is committed to the team of people within their department with an ‘all in’ approach to their work. Innovation to develop their programmes and brilliant basics in their day to day approach are key characteristics of our team members. This role presents an exciting opportunity to join Southampton’s prestigious Academy programmes where you will receive training and development in line with our Academy coaching team.

Essential Experience:

  • Delivering football coaching to youth players
  • Knowledge EPPP and youth development rules

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum FA level 2

Essential Skills:

  • Passionate about working with youth players
  • Highly organised with the ability develop programmes
  • Highly motivated to learn and develop with SFC.
  • Good level of IT literacy to plan and upload sessions.
  • Good communication skills to work with a team of coaches across sites
  • Professional attitude and approach to work.
  • Proactive and uses initiative.
