Scottish Golf is the governing body for the amateur game in Scotland, established in 2015, and serves to support a membership of 570 golf clubs located in communities the length and breadth of Scotland. Our commitments to the game are to make golf Scotland’s game for everyone, where we inspire a nation to love golf in all its forms and to lead, promote and develop golf in Scotland. As a member organisation, our key focus is in providing quality support services to our member clubs to help ensure they can prosper now and in the future and to bring significant additional revenue from new sources for reinvestment into the growth of the game nationwide.
Main purpose of Job:
- Contribute to the overall achievement of the Scottish Golf strategy
- To support the Head of Club Services with implementation of our club business and membership support services
- To contribute to developing a portfolio of resources, education programmes, toolkits and case studies designed to help clubs grow their business
Position in organisation:
The post holder will be an employee of Scottish Golf Ltd and will report to the Head of Club Services.
Liaison will be required with a number of key external groups.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- To utilise the business resources designed to help clubs achieve growth across membership, visitors and other revenue streams, including marketing and communication, membership recruitment and retention, governance, business planning, customer service, sustainability and financial management
- Contribute towards an education programme that supports the delivery and adoption of resources into clubs
- Support the delivery of new Scottish Golf products and services for golf clubs, including the new digital platform
- Evaluate and monitor the impact of the services provided
- Liaise with partners to bring on relevant 3rd party expertise, research and resources

Qualifications:
- Applicants should hold a relevant degree level qualification or equivalent, ideally in a sports related discipline.
- As the post involves an element of travelling, applicants must hold a full current driving licence.
Experience and Knowledge required:
- A thorough understanding of the golf industry and the club environment is essential
- Experience of working with club managers and committee volunteers is essential
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills are essential
- Experience of business planning and financial management is desirable
- An ability to work with other departments and within a team is essential
- Experience of working with a variety of partners is essential
- Excellent IT skills, especially use of Word, Excel, Powerpoint and other project management tools
- The post holder must also demonstrate excellent attention to detail, a customer-focused approach, self-motivation, a hard-working ethos and a drive to go the extra mile for the organisation and our clubs

Miscellaneous:
- A salary reflecting the post holders experience and position within the organisation will be offered. In addition, the post offers a company pension scheme and other benefits.
- This role covers the whole of Scotland and so requires significant travel, often during evenings and weekends.
