Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated Test Technician Team Leader to join our Powertrains Validation and Testing team. This role will give you the opportunity to utilise your leadership skills within the new state-of-the-art Red Bull Powertrains testing facility based at the Milton Keynes Campus.

This Test Technician Team Leader role will be factory based and will require a high level of commitment in order to prove out an extensive range of Powertrains assemblies, ranging from single components up to full vehicles with electrified powertrain.

Reporting to the R&D Test – Powertrains Group Leader, your day-to-day tasks will focus on managing and organising a team of Test Technicians to support department requirements including:

  • Pass-off of powertrain components and assemblies.
  • Preventative maintenance and service of rig/dyno facilities.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues with the test equipment, dynos and the supporting facilities.
  • Keeping detailed records of actual usage of the equipment and communicating updates regarding issues, performance and data generated.
  • Confirming key constants are maintained and changes are recorded in the respective systems.
  • Supporting the department Group Leader with recruitment of Testing personnel.
  • Leading the Technician Testing group by example, offering technical guidance and promoting development training.
  • Developing personal skills in areas including mechanical setup, process, toolchain, architecture, quality and software.

To be successful in this Test Technician Team Leader role you will need:

  • Strong leadership skills, a can-do approach and experience of workload management in the field of state-of-the-art powertrain testing.
  • Experience in an F1, high level motorsport or OEM testing environment.
  • Knowledge of test rig/dyno control software and data logging systems such as Cadet, AVL applications, Atlas and System Monitor would be an advantage.
  • A good understanding of Health and Safety processes including Risk Assessment, COSHH and MSDS.
  • A pro-active approach to problem solving in a technical environment.
  • Proficiency in MS office applications.
