The participation team connect and engage with all areas of Community rugby league to deliver a safe, enjoyable community friendly experience. The team provides a number of opportunities across schools, junior league and the volunteer network including school introductory programs and competitions, teacher support and training, volunteer education and resources as well as world class player retention programs and playing formats. The NRL WA team purpose is to create lifelong engagement in Rugby League state-wide across WA and to continue to promote and grow the sport in our State.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Competition Coordinator - WA to join the team reporting to the General Manager - Western Australia. This Competitions Coordinator is responsible for the support and promotion of NRL WA clubs and associations. In addition, this role will champion the administration and delivery of NRL WA competitions and major events, both male and female for all age groups.
The successful applicant will have a passion for Rugby League and growing participation at all levels of the game. A pragmatic thinker with the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders. You will be highly organised and have strong knowledge of Rugby League and Rugby League’s administration processes.
In the role you will work on:
- Planning, coordinating, delivering and promoting the NRL WA competitions including Finals, State Representative comps and Special events
- Act as the NRL WA Member protection Information Officer by providing information and guidance on complaints procedures and being the first point of call for any enquiries, concerns or complaints about harassment, abuse or other inappropriate behaviour
- Ensuring the effective coordination of player registrations, clearances, & the My Sideline management system.
- Collation & recording of competition statistics
- Provide the required competition resources to ensure efficient delivery of all competitions, including trophies, match books & other resources as required
- Manage, coordinate & regularly update the NRL WA website and social media channels and compile newsletters and event programs
- Identify positive promotional opportunities that can help publicise the sport and community clubs & associations
- Ensure accurate & timely database management & scheduling of education courses including League Safe, Coaching & Trainers courses
Ideally you will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in sports management or equivalent
- Experience working in a sports industry and/ or in a volunteer capacity for a community sport
- Strong organisation and time management skills
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office programs and experience working with CRM platforms is highly desired
- Highly effective communication and relationship building skills
