About This Opportunity
As a Data Solutions Lead, you’ll design and deliver the dashboards, insights, and tools that empower clubs and internal teams to make smarter, faster, and more impactful decisions. You’ll be the trusted data advisor connecting marketing, commercial, and digital performance across the League - helping transform fan data into action.
What You’ll Do
Lead Data Solutions
- Design, implement, and optimise data solutions that support analytics, reporting, and strategic operations
- Ensure the League’s data infrastructure is scalable, secure, and capable of supporting real-time and long-term insights
- Deliver innovative data-driven solutions that improve fan engagement, marketing efficiency, and commercial performance
Deliver Actionable Insights
- Build and maintain dashboards and visualisations that support decision-making across marketing, clubs, and leadership teams
- Map and analyse customer journeys to identify opportunities for personalisation, retention, and fan growth
- Translate complex data into actionable recommendations that enhance fan experience and business results
Engage Stakeholders & Clubs
- Lead the onboarding of clubs to the NBL data program and ensure effective adoption of dashboards and platforms
- Partner with stakeholders across Commercial, Marketing, Operations, and Digital teams to deliver tailored insights
- Act as a key liaison for clubs and external vendors, ensuring alignment between data outputs and business objectives
Drive Continuous Improvement
- Champion data quality, governance, and privacy across systems and platforms
- Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency, and innovation in analytics and reporting
- Stay ahead of emerging technologies in sports data, fan analytics, and marketing optimisation
What We’re Looking For Essential Experience:
- Proven experience building dashboards and visualisations (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar)
- Strong SQL and data analysis skills, with the ability to translate data into meaningful insights
- Experience mapping customer or fan journeys and identifying engagement opportunities
- Strong understanding of marketing, digital, and commercial data ecosystems
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical teams
- Highly organised, proactive, and collaborative with a strong eye for detail
Desirable:
- Experience in sports, media, or entertainment industries
- Exposure to marketing automation platforms (e.g. Monday.com, Braze)
- Tertiary qualifications in Data Analytics, Computer Science, or Information Systems
- Passion for sport, entertainment, and driving growth through data
