Founded in 1887, the traditional Scottish links was created and shaped from wild land beside the Moray Firth through the combined efforts of Archie Simpson, Old Tom Morris, James Braid and Ben Sayers. The course has recently benefited from a significant redesign project delivered by Mackenzie and Ebert in 2018/19.
It is a highly regarded championship links course, having hosted the 1999 Walker Cup, 2012 Curtis Cup, 2016 home Internationals and most recently the 2021 Amateur Championship.
Whilst Nairn GC is a private Members Club, visitors are welcome to the relaxed and friendly atmosphere that awaits in the excellent clubhouse.
We are looking for a driven, passionate and ambitious candidate who will lead the management team that runs one of the most historic and prestigious golf Clubs in the UK. The chosen candidate will preferably have experience in managing a private Members Club. You will be confident, knowledgeable about the game of Golf and able to build successful relationships. You will also need to show a track record in delivering a financial performance in line with budgets.
As part of the role you will become a Trustee of the Club alongside the Club Captain and Club Treasurer.
The role is hands -on and requires a combination of ‘Golf Club’ understanding, excellent communication skills and a focus on execution.
You will be able to demonstrate the following skillsets:
You will enjoy working in a Club environment where there is the need to prioritise and manage multiple tasks linked to defined objectives. The successful candidate will have full day-to-day operational authority for the Club and will report directly to the Club Chair. You will be able to demonstrate you can work with the minimum input from the Chair and Club Board.
Salary
Competitive salary and package will be provided commensurate with experience.
On site accommodation may be available on a short/medium term basis should the candidate require it.
