What's the opportunity?

Motorsport UK is committed to developing and maintaining a high performance culture through the delivery of an aligned people strategy.

Reporting to the CEO, the Head of People will be responsible for delivering the end-to-end HR service; ranging from administration, through to strategic initiatives as part of the Senior Management Team.

This is a standalone HR position, so the candidate will need a broad knowledge of all HR disciplines, as well as the ability to balance the operational and the strategic.

What can you expect to be doing?

  • Acting as the primary point of contact for all HR and people-related matters. Assisting with day-to-day queries and support.
  • Driving and enhancing the people strategy to best support the wider objectives of Motorsport UK and the Senior Management Team.
  • Building on the recent launch of Motorsport UK's core values; continuing to embed and champion a high performance culture within day-to-day activities.
  • Taking a lead on the implementation of recruitment and selection processes which maximise Motorsport UK's ability to attract top talent in all areas.
  • Managing the organisations online People Management Platform.
  • Working with Senior Management and Remuneration Committee to ensure alignment between our benefits package, market trends, and available resource.
  • Ensuring the successful implementation of Motorsport UK's performance and development processes; working closely with line managers to support the growth of their people.
  • Working closely with the Head of Sustainability to develop and enhance the internal EDI programme.
  • Managing end-to-end employee relations matters, liaising with external legal counsel, and providing pastoral care and support where required.
  • Champion first-class communication across our people, inc. Staff Surveys and All Hands briefings.

  • Proven experience at a senior HR level, preferably within fast-paced high performing organisations.
  • A strong HR generalist knowledge-base and skill set, with previous experience operating in a standalone position.
  • An ability to balance day-to-day operational activities with the need for planning and strategic pursuits.
  • Evidence of implementing new ways of working to improve both efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Previous experience of professionally managing challenging conversations and sensitive situations.
  • A flexible, collaborative approach to problem solving.
  • The ability to demonstrate excellent time, prioritisation, and workload management skills.
  • A strong understanding of employment law and its application.
  • An ability to demonstrate a performance and results driven approach.
  • Strong process skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • A relevant post-graduate and / or CIPD qualification.
  • The ability to travel to and from the Motorsport UK offices in Bicester, Oxfordshire.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.

Where will you be based?

Home for us is in the heart of ‘Motorsport Valley’. Specifically, we’re located within the Heritage Quarter of the fantastic Bicester Motion site, Oxfordshire.

The UK’s only hub for historic motoring excellence, Bicester Heritage boasts over 45 specialist automotive and motorsport businesses. Founded in 2013 the 444 acre former WW2 RAF Bomber Training Station is all about driving the future of the past.

Our purpose built office space accommodates the near 70 committed people who passionately work for the betterment of our sport.

We’re big on creating the conditions for organic collaboration. However, we respect that some flexibility goes a long way towards supporting a healthy work-life balance. That’s why we operate a hybrid working policy whereby staff spend four days in the office, with the option to work remotely for the fifth.
