Job Description
Middlesbrough Football Club are seeking to recruit a full time Recruitment Analyst to be based at the Rockliffe Park Training Ground in Hurworth, near Darlington. The Recruitment Analyst will be responsible for evaluating professional football players as an integral part of the player ID and recruitment process.
The Role
- Producing high level analysis of professional footballers on a global basis using data, video or live games
- Writing scouting reports and grading players in line with the Club’s recruitment philosophy
- Liaising and networking with relevant agents and club sources to acquire player information
- Performing ad-hoc recruitment analysis research projects
- Live scouting assignments both domestically and abroad within the player ID process
- Producing detailed video summaries and dossiers on potential new signings to be delivered to Coaching Staff and Head of Football
- Continuous development of knowledge of cutting-edge trends and concepts, both qualitative and quantitative, within recruitment analysis and scouting.
- Contribute to furthering and optimising the player ID process
Candidates should:
- Demonstrate a passionate interest in watching football and footballers from an analytical perspective and possess a high-level of game understanding and knowledge of technical and tactical concepts.
- Demonstrate proficiency in identifying and analysing football players, with a detailed understanding of Championship football, and an understanding of and interest in all relevant global competitions.
- Understand the strengths and limitations of various methodologies, both qualitative and quantitative, for identifying and evaluating footballers.
- Be familiar with the restrictions on signing players e.g. GBE rules.
- Be articulate and concise in written and verbal formats communications.
- Be innovative and intellectually curious with an analytical outlook and strong attention to detail.
- Have excellent time-management and organisation skills
- Be able to maintain high standards under time pressure and show absolute discretion at all times.
- Be a highly motivated, driven and enthusiastic team-player, with a growth mindset approach to development and feedback.

The salary for the role is competitive and will be discussed with shortlisted candidates at interview stage.
