As Senior Operations Manager, you will be joining the award-winning in-house team, operating across unique and different spaces, with the prestige of delivering inside the world-famous Grade II* listed Pavilion. You will have experience of driving standards, coping with multi-site operations on the same day, met with strong planning and communication skills. You will be working with several different stakeholders and will need a solution focused approach, bringing your own creativity and standards of operation whilst driving the recruitment, training, development, and culture of both the casual and full-time team.

KEY PURPOSE OF ROLE

Support to deliver all Events and Experiences at MCC. Lead training programmes for our casual team ensuring we remain an inclusive and diverse operations team.

KEY TASKS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Deliver high standards for all Events and Experiences held within the ground, to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Deliver outputs in accordance with the agreed monthly forecast and budget.
  • Forecasting of staffing levels, liaising with the staffing team to track and monitor against updates.
  • Develop, train, and appraise the casual team to consistently improve upon and innovate service delivery.
  • Structure, coordinate and enhance training programmes with a holistic view from recruitment & induction to the evolving delivery across the year.
  • Document training records and advance role specific training for bar, BOH & FOH managers, expanding upon and interlinking the LRC course, shadowing programme, WSET modules.
  • Monitor and uphold standards, maintaining relevant accountability across all levels of the team.
  • Maintain regular catch ups with Operations Managers and core casual team.
  • Oversee and delegate the operational weekly admin; kit lists, function packs, bar cleaning schedules, alcohol licencing forms, DDR kit, event kit stock and candle & disposable orders.
  • Liaise closely with the estates and logistics team to ensure areas are safe, presentable, and welcoming to clients, guests and staff.
  • Reinforce uniform standards and storage processes.
  • Lead the weekly Ops meetings and plan accordingly with Head of Event Operations.
  • Liaise and advise with Kitchen team over menus and service style.
  • Ownership of health and safety, legal and other paperwork associated with delivery of events.
  • Feed and drive the casual workforce culture, working closely alongside the HR & Wellbeing Manager to actively promote staff welfare.
  • Ensure that all operation standards and manuals are kept up to date.
  • Planning and scheduling of team holidays and full-time presence across the year.

  • Attendance at all major match-days, including weekends.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in planning and successfully executing all operational elements for Events & Experiences
  • Experience of multi-site operations and managing a large team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Creative, solution based, analytical thinking in the construction and innovation of training programmes, with a holistic view from recruitment & induction through to the evolving delivery across the year.
  • Strong leadership skills in monitoring and upholding standards, maintaining relevant accountability across all levels of the team.
