To assist the Head Coach on all aspects of leading the London City Lionesses 1st team including: team coaching, individual coaching, scouting, opposition/team analysis, recruiting and match preparation. The Assistant Coach will be the linchpin between the Head Coach and the other football departments within the first team environment.
- Assist in developing team culture within the 1st team with emphasis on the LCL values.
- Retain, identify, and recruit players capable of playing FAWC & FAWSL
- Take lead on team training, individual training and small group training.
- Create individual player development plans with measurable goals.
- Create a link between all football department staff and the Head Coach.
- Work with the Analysis Team to assist with opposition analysis and game preparation.
- Take lead on set piece development and delivery.
- Be the main point of contact for all support staff within the 1st team.
- Carry out weekly Health & Wellbeing checks on players and report findings to Medical Staff.
- Liaise with the Academy Team Head Coach to ensure pathway for players into the 1st Team.
- Work alongside the Player Support Officer and the Board Safeguarding Champion to ensure all safeguarding policies and FA regulations are adhered to.
- Facilitate meetings and events as required with players and coaches.
- Attend academy training sessions and matches, providing weekly updates to the Women’s 1st Team Head Coach, Sporting Director, and the Board as and when available.
- Liaise with the FA, County FA and other Governing Bodies as required.
- Liaise with the Sporting Director and Head of Operations for weekly team needs.
- Additional club coaching responsibilities as required.
Skills & Experience
- UEFA B Licence, working towards UEFA A Licence (UEFA A preferred)
- Previous experience operating within a 1st team coaching staff
- IT literate
- Knowledge of the FAWC & FAWSL
- Experience in developing a positive culture and upholding strong values within a sports environment.
- Previous experience using analysis platforms (preferred)
- Experience in recruitment/player onboarding process
