Limerick Local Sports Partnership, a Company wholly owned by the Local Authority and supported by Sport Ireland have secured funding for the recruitment of a Sports Administrator on a fixed term contract. We are expanding our services in Limerick with the opening of a 2nd office in Newcastle West Co Limerick.

This post will operate through a hybrid working arrangement with a minimum of 3 days based in Newcastle West with the remaining time distributed between the UL based LSP office and remote working.

Job Purpose

The Sports Development Officer (SDO) will foster and encourage a culture of Active Participation, supporting opportunities for and access to sport and physical activity in local communities in west Limerick.

The candidate will:

  • Foster and encourage a culture of Active Participation, supporting opportunities for and access to sport and physical activity in local communities.
  • Address barriers to participation and encourage access and increase opportunities for participation by those who experience disadvantage for any reason.
  • Establish a baseline in the communities chosen for interventions and conduct an audit of local clubs and update where this has already been completed.
  • Support and contribute to the preparation of annual operational plans for the delivery of the Limerick LSP Strategic Themes.
  • Implement all LSP monitoring and evaluation processes to understand the effectiveness of all programmes and initiatives.

The salary scale for this post is €28,189 to €45,554 on an incremental scale where relevant.
