Description:
Primarily based at King Power Stadium and the Belvoir Drive training facility, the overall objective of the role is to help the grounds department maintain its playing surfaces and surrounding areas to an exceptionally high standard.
Who We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience working in a similar role, have an NVQ Level 2 in sports turf (or equivalent) and PA1, PA2 and PA6 qualifications.
This role is active and physical, with tasks including pedestrian and ride-on mowing, line marking, strimming, and all forms of pitch preparation and repair. Responsibilities are not limited to the Club’s pitches, with horticultural work required in the surrounding areas across the Club’s sites, along with the cleaning and maintenance of machinery, tools and equipment.
The ideal candidate will also be reliable, have the ability to multi-task, perform under pressure, and have a high level of attention to detail. Additionally, the role requires flexibility, as the Sports Turf and Grounds team are required for matchdays, which may involve evening and weekend working.
Main Duties:
- Tasks to include but not limited to pedestrian and ride-on mowing, line marking, strimming, divoting and other forms of pitch repair and preparation as well as the surrounding areas.
- Liaising with the head groundsman and the rest of the team on a daily basis.
- To maintain up-to-date knowledge of the industry.
- The cleaning and maintenance of machinery, hand tools and our areas.
- Horticultural work if required.
- Match days if required.
- The Employee must at all times carry out his/her responsibilities with due regard to the Club values and policies and procedures, in particular Health & Safety, Equality and Diversity, Confidentiality and with regard to the Data Protection Act.
- Work to be carried out over all of the clubs’ sites.
