Purpose of the job

The purpose of the job is to undertake applied sports science and medicine research in collaboration with Premiership Rugby. The job will deliver on agreed projects, and secure funding for future projects in rugby.

Responsibilities

  • To undertake high-quality rigorous research in collaboration with Premiership Rugby
  • To carry out research aligned with Carnegie Applied Rugby Research (CARR) centre in the Carnegie School of Sport.
  • Propose, design, coordinate and conduct research, based on project priorities.
  • Author reports and peer-reviewed publications on findings in collaboration with project teams.
  • Attend regular meetings with project teams.
  • To develop research proposals and funding bids to continue the collaboration project past the currently funded period.
  • Build strong collaborations with external partners
  • To contribute to the University’s Research Strategy.
  • To provide support to other members of our research community.
  • To undertake other such duties commensurate with the post and grade as agreed with line manager

Physical Conditions
You will be based on-site at Headingley Campus.

Relationships
The post holder will work with academic, research and administrative staff in Carnegie School of Sport and with academic staff from other schools and external universities where appropriate. You will also work closely with external stakeholders, for data collection, which you will collaborate on.
