The Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) is the governing body for the sport of rugby union in Ireland.
The IRFU is currently inviting applications for the position of Event Operations Executive.
The successful candidate will provide support in the delivery of rugby matches and projects to the highest standards.
This position is being offered on a 3 year fixed term contract based at our head office, 10-12 Lansdowne Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4.

ROLE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Event Operations Executive will provide support in the delivery of rugby matches and projects to the highest standards. The successful candidate will ensure consistent, high level service throughout pre-event, event and post-event phases.
The role holder will work with key stakeholders both internally and externally, ensuring close relationships and collaboration is built and maintained.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Operational: Event Operations Manager
Functional: Director of Operations
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide support to the Operations Department in the planning and delivery of events.
2. Create, build, and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
3. Work as a match manager at various venues across the Island of Ireland as assigned.
4. Be proactive, resourceful and take ownership of projects/events while working closely with Operations Department.
5. Work with stakeholders to deliver on best practices.
6. Develop and create supporting documentation for events in conjunction with relevant stakeholders.
7. Coordinate and communicate information and disseminate it to all venues and stakeholders as appropriate.
8. Attend planning meetings, site visits as and when required.
9. Support match managers with the logistics and admin.
10. Assist in the delivery of the accreditations for international matches.
11. Ensure that contractors working at events submit all necessary documentation prior to an event, i.e., insurance details, safety statements and risk assessments which will be assessed by the appointed IRFU Health & Safety Consultant.
12. Provide admin support to the operations department.
13. Coordinate various Operations Department Projects as and when required.
14. Adhoc facility and admin duties as and when required by the Operations Department
KEY QUALITIES
Essential
1. A minimum of 2 years Event Management experience.
2. Excellent organisational, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
3. Delivering within deadlines.
4. Excellent IT skills including a high proficiency of MS Office packages.
5. Good problem-solving skills and strong initiative.
6. Excellent written and oral communication skills
7. Project planning and management skills
8. High level of accuracy and attention to detail
9. Must be available to work evenings and weekends
10. Must have a clean full driver’s license
Desirable
1. An accredited World Rugby Match Commissioner
2. Sport Health and Safety experience
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
• Agree and deliver performance related KPIs with Event Operations Manager.
The salary for this role is up to €40,000 per annum depending on experience.
