High Performance Sport NZ (HPSNZ) is seeking a Performance and Technique Analyst (PTA) to join our team. This role represents a fantastic opportunity to contribute to Athletics New Zealand's ongoing legacy of performance excellence.

Based in Auckland, this role will impact performance across multiple domains including biomechanics, performance feedback, performance monitoring, technique and positioning analysis, data management and visualisation. This will be a collaborative role linked tightly with coaches and other support providers spread throughout New Zealand.

Candidates will have a strong background in the delivery of technique and performance analysis to high performance programmes. Previous experience working across athletics disciplines is desirable. Key focus areas are currently: pole vault, throws, and sprinting. Skills in data acquisition systems, programming, and data visualization tools will be an advantage. The ability to build and maintain robust relationships with multiple and diverse stakeholders is critical.

Successful candidates will be required to provide support regionally at competitions and training camps. International travel is a possibility.

Experience requirements:

  • A post graduate degree in sports science, engineering, or science is desired.
  • Direct experience supporting athletes with their preparations toward major international events. A career focus on biomechanics and/or performance analysis is a must.
  • Verifiable experience within elite athletics disciplines preferred.
  • Passionate recent graduates with a point of difference also considered. Noting the role title and remuneration level offered will be dependent on candidate experience and skillset.
