The role in brief:

You will be responsible for the delivery of an industry leading rehabilitation programme for Harlequins FC senior squad players following injury. In collaboration with the Athletic Performance Rehab Strength & Conditioning Coach, the APRP will be responsible for the planning, programming, and delivery of injured players rehabilitation journey from Injury to return to play.

The Details:

  • Based at our Training Ground: Surrey Sports Park, Guildford, GU2 7AD
  • Reports to Head of Medical Services

The Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the Athletic Performance Rehab Coach, responsible for the planning, programming and delivery of all pitch and gym-based sessions
  • Provide detailed objective rehab reports for all injured senior squad players throughout the rehabilitation process.
  • Responsible for the appropriate coordination between relevant parties such as the Head of Medical Services and the coaching team as to the injured players status and progress throughout the rehabilitation process.
  • Continue to develop a rehabilitation process that is industry leading and provides consistency throughout the Senior and Academy squad.
  • As a senior member of the Performance Support team, you will be expected to deliver, and oversee, the delivery of role specific CPD.
  • Provide coaching support to the Medical & Athletic Performance Team in the delivery of rehabilitation processes and Return to Run processes.

The Experience and Qualifications needed:

  • An undergraduate degree (or equivalent qualification) in Physiotherapy or related field.
  • Desirable - RFU Pitch-side Immediate Care Qualification.
  • MSc Qualification in relevant field.
  • A minimum of 4 years experience working in full time professional sport, with a minimum of 2 years working with injured athletes.
  • Experience in the responsibility of programming and leading the delivery of rehabilitation programmes to injured professional athletes including injuries over 3 months in length.
  • Knowledge across all areas of athletic development.
  • Knowledge around the demands of rugby.
  • Knowledge of, and experience in, testing, profiling, and screening athletic performance qualities of athletes.
  • Knowledge of, and experience in, working with athlete management systems and performance software (please state which software & systems you have experience in).
  • Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team.
