JOB PURPOSE

The purpose of the role is to help drive the growth and accessibility of junior cricket in Hampshire. The role will involve managing all junior competitions in the county (summer and winter).

KEY RESPONSBILITIES

  • Lead the Junior Cricket Management Group, to oversee the management and administration of playing opportunities in Hampshire, including setting agendas and issuing minutes.
  • Manage all entries, including collection of entry fees.
  • Manage Play Cricket sites and all associated administration.
  • Generate fixtures and collate results on Play Cricket.
  • Be the main point of contact for all junior clubs involved in the competitions on a day-to-day basis.
  • Consult with junior coordinators, coaches, parents and players through a variety of means, to ensure the principles for junior cricket in Hampshire are delivered and the needs of participants are met.
  • Ensure all rules and regulations are communicated and adhered to by clubs, coaches, parents and players.
  • With support from the Management Group oversee and implement complaints and disciplinary procedures.
  • Work with the County Safeguarding Officer to implement a culture of safeguarding throughout junior clubs in Hampshire.
  • Book venues for winter programme and summer finals.
  • Deliver an end of season celebration event for junior teams.
  • Support club and volunteer development through training, reward and recognition events.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • A passion for growing junior cricket and providing a fantastic experience for young people.
  • Experienced and competent user of various IT programmes.
  • Experience of junior cricket administration in a club or league environment.
  • Experience of coordinating and engaging volunteer management committees/groups.
  • A competent planner and highly organised, with the ability to be systematic, logical and pragmatic when completing tasks.
  • Ability to work accurately with a great attention to detail.
  • Strong customer focus with a commitment to continually improve services provided, by listening and acting upon feedback.
  • Remain calm under pressure with the ability to work under own initiative and manage own workload but also supporting the team when required.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • The ability to develop effective and beneficial working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Ability to develop and innovate to expand playing opportunities and make junior cricket inclusive and accessible.
  • Working knowledge of Play Cricket.

CONSIDERATIONS

The role is based at Utilita Bowl with regular opportunities to work from home. Whilst the role is predominantly Monday to Friday during office hours, the post holder will be required to work some evenings and weekends. A job-sharing arrangement would be considered.
