The Role

We are recruiting an Assistant Volunteer Manager, to join our 3,000 strong team of dedicated staff and volunteers. You will be responsible for delivering the national volunteering programme and the scoping of the Championships full volunteer requirement of around 3,000-4,000 volunteers. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring sufficient volunteers, with the appropriate skills are recruited, trained and subsequently deployed to their Championship time roles.

To be successful in this role you have the following skills and experience:

  • Employment experience in working with and directly managing the welfare of a large number of volunteers
  • Ability to assimilate large volumes of information and organise into a clear and communicable format
  • Experience of working in partnership with multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and outstanding people skills


  • 29 days (rising to 34 days after 5 years) pro rata, plus 6.5 public holidays, pension fund, staff discounts and an annual purchase scheme.
