Position Objective

The role of the Sponsorship Manager is to use insights from our current partners to drive improved engagement and continue to evolve our brand to attract a wide variety of new stakeholders. The role will manage and oversee partnership services. The Sponsorship Manager will develop processes and systems to ensure that our partnership services are operating efficiently, effectively and profitably. The Sponsorship Manager will promote a posiEve image for Geelong United Basketball through professional delivery of service. Due to the nature of the role, the successful applicant will be required to be flexible with workdays and times

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Responsible for managing acquisition and retention of sponsorships
  • Responsible for budget management for sponsorships and corporate partnerships.
  • Assist in preparing strategic plans that incorporate communications, content development,

    social media engagement and branding

  • Work collaboratively to develop partnership services including skills development, promotion and networking
  • Provide oversight to ensure quality standards are implemented
  • Assist the CEO in developing strategic plans for sponsorship
  • Oversee and implement sponsorship administration systems and processes
  • Sponsorship support and enquiries
  • Attending and assisting at Geelong United Basketball Events
  • Any other duties as directed by the CEO or CEO’s nominee (e.g.OM and or Finance Manager)

Experience and Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications. (preferred)
  • Experience in sport/not-for-profit. (desirable)
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities, plan, manage time, and meet deadlines
  • Experience in marketing and/or sponsorship

An Annual Review will be held during the year by the CEO and will consider the following aspects of the role:

  • Professional relaEonship with others
  • ReflecEon on the professional duEes performed
  • ReflecEon and report on appropriate training / in servicing done in support of the role
  • Time Management in the fulfilment of the role
  • OrganisaEonal skills and competencies used in the aspects of the role
  • ICT Skills used and developed in the role
  • Successes/Challenges that the role encounters
