About the role

This fixed-term role predominately focuses on Principles IV, VII, IX and X and is based in the area of Participation. This position of Woman & Girls Participation Manager is an integral role in ensuring that Football Australia’s and its Member Federations participation offerings and experiences are inclusive and accessible for females.

The role will work with the wider community team and key stakeholders of Member Federations, Associations/Zones and Local Clubs in strategic planning for program growth and development whilst leveraging the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup to strive to a 50/50 gender split by 2027.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Create and lead a consistent national approach to Women & Girls participation in all elements of football within Australia
  • Define clear female annual participation targets, to strive to a 50/50 gender split by 2027
  • Work closely with Football Australia’s Community Team, Legacy Team and Member Federations to plan and deliver on female participation initiatives including but not limited to: Sporting Schools, MiniRoos, Game Plan: Club Development Program and Our Game
  • Build effective working relationships with local stakeholders to overcome barriers of female participation, retention and satisfaction
  • To support the football network in effective planning and activation of Female Football Week
  • Creation and implementation of workshops, forums, seminars and experiences for women and girls' participation strategies, with specific reference to Game Plan One Star award scheme

About you

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum 4 years’ experience in a management position
  • Completed tertiary qualifications in sport management/administration or a related area of study
  • Demonstrative experience in project management and implementation.
  • Management of Women & Girls community sport projects is highly desirable
  • A team player with experience leading a team
  • Experience in an administration role and advanced skills in the use of Microsoft Office software
  • Sound interpersonal skills with an ability to manage relationships and negotiate terms
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Understanding of marketing principles and their application

Additional Requirements:

  • Full working rights in Australia
  • Working with children check (paid/ employee) or state- based equivalent
  • Out of hours and weekend work as required
