About the opportunity:

We have an opportunity for an experienced Chef de Partie to join our growing Everton in the Community Team within our Blue Base facility.

As Chef de Partie you will be responsible for the planning, preparation and cooking of food items to ensure the highest quality service and experience for participants, customers and staff.

The Blue Base is a facility that operates Monday – Friday as a base for some of our Community programmes to support disabled and socially isolated members of the local community.

The provision allows them to engage in stimulating, high-quality development programmes that aim to raise their aspirations, address their health and wellbeing needs, improve their social skills and boost their self-confidence.

To complement core daytime activities, the Blue Base has a fully licensed bar and is available to hire for social functions and business events and is the ideal venue for a variety of daytime, evening and weekend activities.

Other key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring that all work meets a high degree of professionalism, including presentation and quality of food being served.
  • Ensuring that all activities are undertaken in compliance with food and hygiene regulations.
  • Ensuring that all food and other items are stored and labelled appropriately at all times.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the main kitchen in accordance with hygiene requirements, including:
    All work surfaces, all kitchen equipment, food service points, floors, shelving area, fridges, freezers, and tables within the kitchen area.

Who we are looking for:

Essentially we are looking for an individual who has a real passion for providing great food and excellent service. A real team player our successful postholder will have the ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt quickly in the face of change to find solutions.

Our successful postholder will have solid experience of working in a busy kitchen or canteen environment and be confident in their knowledge of both COSHH and also HACCP regulations.

Other key Knowledge and Skills will include:

  • Ability to communicate to members of staff and wider public.
  • Ability to use own initiative and work without supervision.
  • Minimum Level 2 NVQ in Catering and Hospitality
  • First Aid
  • Health and Safety in the workplace
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work weekends and in the evening as and when needed to accommodate business needs.
