Nature and Scope:

Working within a team of three, the Fundraising Executive will be responsible for delivery of RFU fundraising activity, working across a variety of income streams ensuring revenue is maximized, supporters are stewarded to a high standard, and the RFU charity objectives are achieved.

The main areas of work are:

  • Implementing the RFU’s charity strategy
  • Supporter recruitment, development and retention
  • Fundraising for the RFU Injured Players Foundation
  • Fundraising for Rugby Football Foundation

Accountabilities:

  • Take a lead role in recruiting, developing and retaining supporters across multiple income streams
  • Deliver our supporter journey, creating marketing plans and stewardship material for fundraising activity using print media and digital channels
  • Deliver a portfolio of 3rd party and special event activities ensuring these deliver strong ROI and high-quality participant experience
  • Develop and deploy our community fundraising products to reach new audiences and engage existing supporters
  • Work with stakeholders to source auction and raffle prizes, manage printed collateral and branding,
  • Work closely with other RFU departments to manage internal functions: finance, digital, procurement etc
  • Act as an ambassador for and always promote the best interests of the RFU, including the promotion of the RFU core values and culture
  • Undertake such other duties as maybe required from time to time as are consistent with the responsibilities of the post and the needs of the organisation

Person Specification

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Substantial experience of charity fundraising operations and practices
  • Experience of delivering events, achieving income targets, and working to tight deadlines
  • Experience of recruiting and stewarding supporters offering a quality charity experience
  • Experience of working with budgets, income targets and KPIs
  • Experience of developing relationships with supporters, stakeholders and suppliers
  • Experience of working and communicating with internal teams to achieve goals
  • Experience of working with a database
  • High level of skill using MS office products

Skills and Personal Attributes:

  • A team player with a confident manner and a professional, flexible, and positive approach to work
  • A strong communicator with excellent writing skills
  • An ability to deal with difficult circumstances and work collaboratively to resolve situations positively
  • Confident working independently, taking ownership of projects with minimal supervision
  • Organized, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities effectively
  • Close attention to detail
  • An understanding of the rugby/sport landscape is an advantage but not essential

Additional Information:

  • Must live within commuting distance of Twickenham
  • Personal circumstances must allow the candidate to work extended hours on occasion during times of peak activity including evenings and weekends
