We are looking for an innovative, creative, and digital-first content creator to work as part of a digital communications and marketing team to proactively elevate England Netball and the Netball Super League brands, grow digital channels, and fan engagement and create compelling and industry leading content to build new audiences and take our sport to new and exciting places.

Bringing high energy and a ‘can do’ approach to the role, with a strong focus and passion for digital content creation and storytelling through social media. The role will produce engaging and on trend content for both the England Netball and the Netball Super League channels. You will need to ensure that England Netball’s purpose and new ‘Adventure’ strategy is at the heart of everything we do.

The role is perfect for someone who is highly motivated, passionate, collaborative, curious, confident, ambitious, and ready to go on an adventure with us as we look ahead to an exciting, revolutionary time for our sport.

Job Summary:

The Digital Assistant will support the Marketing and Communications department to deliver innovative and compelling content across all levels of the game, celebrating the Netball Family and bringing communities closer to the game.

What you will do:

Social Media Content

  • Support the content team in creating compelling social media posts for England Netball and Netball Super League channels to drive engagement and audience growth. This will include creating innovative and exciting digital content (such as video, imagery, written features and more)
  • Support in the delivery of 365-content calendars to have an ‘always-on’ approach to digital communications
  • Provide administrative support for our websites, maintaining platforms for colleagues across England Netball and the Netball Super League. You will write news stories, interviews and features for the England Netball and Netball Super League websites
  • Monitor the content of the websites on a regular basis to ensure that all information is relevant and all out of date material is removed
  • Continue to stay up to date with social trends and digital innovations, bringing ideas and opportunities to the England Netball and the Netball Super League to further engage with audiences

Other duties

  • Assist with the creation of email campaigns and e-news using Maileon
  • Monitor and share key social and website stats with the wider team, both day-to-day and from key campaigns
  • Support with the creation of England Netball’s membership magazine 5th Quarter
  • Assist with video editing and provide support on photo and video shoots
  • Escalate any potential issues or negative comments on England Netball’s social media channels
  • Attend international, Netball Super League and domestic events to help create digital content
  • Offer ideas, solutions and a problem-solving approach to digital for the benefit of the wider organisation

General

  • Act as a positive role model, ambassador and advocate for the sport and England Netball
  • Respect and promote the spirit and intentions of England Netball’s Safeguarding and Protecting Young People in Netball policy
  • Ensure England Netball content and channels promote diversity and inclusivity and are accessible to all
  • Undertake any other duties as may be required from time to time that are consistent with the responsibilities of the post and the needs of England Netball.
  • Work collaboratively with teams and departments organisation-wide to help support alignment and collaboration
  • Be a team player and at all times consider how the role can support the Adventure Strategy.

Great team workers You have a collaborative, ‘one team’ approach to working and an ability to maintain close constructive working relationships at all levels

Knowledgeable about website administration.

Experience of working on social media accounts and video editing or using the Adobe video editing suite

A strong communicator You have excellent written and spoken English and experience of compelling story telling, with an eye for detail. You can sell a story to a diverse audience through different channels.

You have a minimum standard of English and Maths at GCSE Grade C /4 or equivalent.

A natural organiser You are self-motivated, with the ability to manage your own workload and keep track of deadlines

Flexible and adaptable. You are resilient when faced with competing demands. You have a can-do attitude with ability to use initiative and be proactive. Your creative mindset and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and your ability to think outside the box will be crucial to working in this role.

We want someone who wants to learn and grow in this role.

You are able to work anti-social hours occasionally, including evenings or weekend events.

Desirable It would be beneficial if you have worked in a sporting environment and have an Interest in the Sports Industry and have an understanding of:

  • using website content management systems, particularly Wordpress
  • Adobe suite for graphic design
  • working with HTML
