Wimborne Wayfarers Hockey Club is a dynamic, sociable club based at QE Leisure Centre in Wimborne, Dorset. We combine successful hockey with a friendly, sociable atmosphere, and are looking for a coach to help drive performance and develop players.
Our men's 1s have just been promoted to Div 2 South with men's 2s being promoted to Div 5 South. Our ladies 1s are in Div 1 South, Ladies 2s in Div 1 Forest and our Ladies 3s in Div 3 Forest.
We have a thriving junior section from ages 8-14 of ranging abilities. Our under-10 boys qualified for regionals this year and there have been many other successes including some of our players being selected for the Dorset team.
What we are looking for;
- A confident, enthusiastic person who is able to lead sessions
- Minimum level 2 qualification
- DBS certificate or eligibility to apply
- Experience both playing and coaching hockey
- Ability to coach all ages
What you will do;
- Plan and deliver sessions to a range of ages and abilities
- Communicate and direct assistant coaches/club members to help set up and run drills
- Have regular contact with captains to discuss training and player development
- Ensure player safety throughout sessions
We are looking for a coach for Tuesday and Wednesday evening sessions and to support our Ladies teams on Saturdays from September to March.
