Our championship team run in excess of 60 events a year between the months of April to September. As one of five tournament managers within the team, you will manage, organise and deliver national tournaments and events for club golfers, as well as assisting tournament director staff at key national championships for amateur golfers playing at the elite level. We pride ourselves on providing first-class events for our golfers and you will play an important part in delivering this.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- knowledge of amateur golf
- an understanding of the rules of golf
- a basic understanding of the World Handicap System (WHS)
- the ability to use and learn a range of computer software programs including GolfGenius software
- an ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people
- the ability to work to deadlines
Main Duties & Key Responsibilities:
- To manage, organise and deliver national tournaments and events as allocated by the Championships Director.
- To act as Tournament Director on site at events as allocated by the Championships Director.
- Assist Championship Director, Deputy Director and Championship Managers at events as and when required.
- Conduct and manage pre-tournament site surveys and meetings with club officials in preparation for hosting national events as assigned.
- Perform on-site tournament administration duties including golf course marking, golf course set-up, local rules, pace of play guidelines and volunteer management.
- Provide information and answering of queries in relation to England Golf championships and events.
- Represent England Golf when attending allocated events ensuring that a professional and efficient image is presented at all times.
- Maintain relationships with Championship site locations personnel and relevant volunteers, greens staff and Club officials.
