Derby County Football Club has an opportunity to join our Academy Coaching Team as a Pre-Academy Coach.
Our Academy vision is to continue to provide talented, well balanced young professional footballers for Derby County's first-team squad and become recognised as the ‘Academy of Choice’ for young players within our local area and beyond. Our mission is to identify, develop and support talented young footballers in order for them to achieve their maximum potential in a positive, supportive and professional learning environment.
Your previous experience of designing, coordinating and delivering “best-in-class” coaching sessions will contribute to our vision, and have a positive demonstrable impact on our mission.
Key responsibilities:
- Designing and delivering engaging sessions to support the Pre-Academy Players and progress their football development
- Carry out player and session evaluations on a regular basis
- Take responsibility for coaching the players across the Pre-Academy age groups
- Liaising with parents/guardians both formally and informally to provide a positive and welcoming environment
- Be a positive role model to all players
- Be committed to supporting the players development
Personal characteristics and experience:
- To be certified with a minimum FA Level 2 and UEFA B Coaching Certificate or working towards
- To hold FA Emergency First Aid certificate
- To hold FA Safeguarding Children certificate
- Have an engaging and enthusiastic personality
- To be certified with the FA Youth Award
- Have experience of coaching young players of the Pre-Academy age
- Have knowledge of the football recruitment process
- Have knowledge of young player talent identification and talent development
This role is part-time and a fixed-term until May 2023. This role will be based at Derby County Training Centre but some travel will be required.
