An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, well-organised and creative individual to join our team as a Lead Communications Executive. With an increasing membership base and ambitious plans, CIMSPA’s growing team needs someone who is just as excited as we are to shout about, and engage people with, our work across social media.
The ideal candidate will be inquisitive, creative and have an eye for interesting stories. They will have an enthusiastic approach to building communications, with the ability to make connections and plot ideas across the work of the entire organisation. They will be a storyteller – this person needs to be able to communicate CIMSPA’s story effectively across multiple channels of communication.
The Lead Communications Executive will have a strong understanding of key journalistic principles, web-based platforms and copy production, as well as blogs and news stories, they will be able to write content based on tonal shifts and change their writing style dependent on the nature of the copy. They will understand brand tone of voice and have a strong copy-editing background.
The candidate will have the ability to exercise good judgement in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative and organisational skills. They will also have the ability to work under pressure to handle a variety of situations.
This role offers flexible hybrid working, enabling our colleagues to divide their time between our head office in Loughborough and working from home. Specific details/flexible working options can be discussed as part of the interview process. Key tasks include but are not limited to:
- Provision of “approval ready” deliverables to facilitate efficient (time and budget) project delivery.
- Proactive research for stories, social and email opportunities in line with strategic objectives to add value to stakeholders.
- Effective planning and execution/briefing of key performance metrics with appropriate, timely reporting with meaningful commentary.
- Use of analytics to create data-led content and campaigns that most efficiently engage and reach CIMSPA’s audience.
- Support and maintain a good and effective relationship with our third-party consultants.
- Contribute to and execute deliverables within a social media strategy to best utilise and curate social channels, ensuring the most vital messages that contribute to CIMSPA’s strategic aims are widely received.
- Implementation of best practice activities based on individual briefs and agreed departmental strategy.
- Full and timely completion of periodical activities to expected standard using briefed/expected templates and/or processes.
