Role Description:
The purpose of this role is to manage, lead and deliver the provision of Academy Performance Analysis at Charlton Athletic. The candidate will also be responsible for the preparation and delivery of the U21 analysis services adopting both video and statistical methods of analysis
Key Responsibilities:
- To be responsible for leading the academy performance analysis programmes at Charlton Athletic in line with meeting the EPPP category 2 requirements and delivering analytical support to the Academy Director and coaching staff
- Manage the requirements of Foundation, Youth development and Professional development phase football. Implementing pre and post match analysis and feedback across younger ages.
- To ensure the management of all other academy performance analysis staff and interns (part/full time). Ensure CPD is carried out and reviewed for all interns.
- Record all Under 21 development squad training sessions for feedback on player and coach performance, maintaining training databases for best practice.
- Arrange provision of the Under 21 Development Squad opposition footage and provide detailed pre-match presentations outlining oppositions style of play, strengths and weaknesses in all phases of the game.
- Record and live code all home and away Development squad matches. Providing half time video feedback to coaches and layers.
- Upload matches to HUDL’s video sharing platform, creating individual player clips aligned with development plans and goal setting.
- Create statistical reports and conduct trend analysis aligned with Charlton’s principles of play.
- Deliver a variety of video analysis sessions to individuals, units and the team.
- Manage a best practice video library for player motivation and education.
- Assist with player review meeting clips in accordance with the Youth and Professional development phase coaches.
- Produce video content to support the multi-disciplinary team; physios, sports sciences, education.
- Produce educational and motivational academy videos.
- Create player compilation videos for players being released from the academy.
- Show a desire to undertake all reasonable training, learning and development activity designed to support you in your role.
Education/Qualifications/Training:
- Previous experience working as a performance analyst within a professional football club
- Sports Science Degree (BSc,BA) or related
- Knowledge of coding software - SportsCode, Studio, Wyscout, HUDL
- Various video techniques to record training and games
- Competent use of apple mac based software - Keynote, iMovie.
- High organisation skills to be able to prioritise workload effectively under pressure
- Ability to take initiative as well as work as part of a team
- Be trustworthy and adhere to clubs code of conduct and ethics
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - liaising with coaches, players and peers
Abilities/Skills/Knowledge:
- MSc degree in Sports Performance Analysis
- Coaching qualifications or working towards them
- A detailed technical and tactical understanding of Football
- Good presentation skills

- This a full time role that includes work on weekends and evenings (negotiable);
