The role:
British Wheelchair Basketball (BWB) is the UK National Governing Body for Wheelchair Basketball and there has never been a more exciting time to join our sport.
The Finance Manager is a new role to the NGB, they will be responsible for the day-to-day financial management and financial integrity of British Wheelchair Basketball.
The Finance Manager will work alongside the Operations Director and (BWB’s) third-party accountancy partner to deliver all aspects of the financial operations requirements of the NGB.
Working Pattern: Part-time (15hrs per week)
The priorities for the role include (further priorities listed in Job Description and Person Spec):
Main Responsibilities
- Maintain Purchase Ledger including preparing payment runs, posting supplier invoices, reconcile supplier statements & chase outstanding invoices.
- Produce monthly P&Ls for budget holders and preparing funder returns.
- Support with Cash Flow & Forecasting.
- Support year-end and audit process with third-party accountants and auditors.
- Prepare foreign currency transactions.
- Resolve customer & supplier financial queries.
- Develop & maintain key supplier relationships.
- Ensuring our finance polices and processes are up to date, relevant and aligned to the British Wheelchair Basketball
- Development and promotion of financial awareness within the business.
- Support annual budget development for Board Approval
- Ensuring the health, safety and welfare of all involved with wheelchair basketball.
- Following safeguarding procedures for children and adults at risk.
- Undertaking other duties as appropriate to achieve BWB objectives.
